Finally googled enough and discovered that you have to go to a random place on Adobe, download the program from THEM not Amazon and then enter your serial number to activate it. So honestly I don't see any benefit to purchasing this from Amazon - the discount is the same everywhere. But the program, once installed, is fine - it's quite annoying that Adobe requires you to either buy a subscription or keep buying new versions, but that's not really any different than any other software these days.
